Challenge...
Let's face it parents, we are in a battle for our childrens' hearts. Kids today are deluged with immoral activity from all sides: television, internet, magazines, movies, friends, etc. Immorality is depicted as being okay and expected; never showing the consequences of such choices.
It's up to us as parents to preserve the innocence of our children by guiding them with Godly principles in the appropriate direction. Our country has been promoting birth control and "safe sex" to our children for years and now leads the free world in teen pregancies and STD's.
Solution...
The ultimate responsibility for our childrens' safety, education, health, and direction in life is, after all, up to us. Let's not drop the ball. "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it".

Help Is Here...
With this in mind, the Purity Promise® Program, a verbal, contractual and public commitment all in one, came into being. The Purity Promise® symbols were designed to be a public commitment to help keep young people accountable for their actions. Each handcrafted Purity Promise® piece consistes of two parts: a front half and a back half, each a mirror image of the other. One half is held or worn by the parent while the other is worn by the person makeing the vow. These symbols were designed to be worn as a necklace. When friends see the symbol, the wearer is promted to tell of their promise to abstain from pre-marital sex.

On the young person's wedding day, possibly during the ceremony,
the parent gives their half to the soon-to-be son or daughter-in-law.
The two halves are then snapped together to form the completed
symbol - recognizing the completion of the promise to remain
sexually pure until marriage.
